Making a House a Home

Seven months after purchasing our house, I just now getting around to finishing up some decorating projects I've been meaning to do for a long time.

My main concern has been our dining room since every bit of the wall is empty. In the next couple of months I plan on purchasing an antique china cabinet to go on one side of our dining room. That leaves the other side completely empty.

A good friend of mine is from Atlanta and her mom loves to peruse Scott's antique market every month. I told my friend that I was in need of some plates to hang and some botanical prints to frame for my living room. She sent her Mom on a mission and her Mom did not disappoint! She brought back the most beautiful botanical prints, which are now at Michael's getting framed. She also brought some awesome antique plates that I did in a little montage on my empty dining room wall.

Here are some pictures:

I think it turned out well!

It looks fabulous!! I can't wait to see when you add the prints :) I think everyone lives in their house for almost a year before it's *almost done* lol

cute cute!! love those plates! its almost better to live there for a while and then put the finishing touches on bc then you have gotten a feel for what you would like and how you live in the house.

What a great find! Aren't moms the best?? My mom is like my personal home shopper. I will casually mention wanting something and *bam* she finds it...usually on sale to boot. I just don't have the time or patience! You will have to post the prints when they are done.

I believe they are "harvest gold" by benjamin moore? i can look in our attic at the old paint cans and see, but I believe that's it :)

So pretty!! We've been in our house just over 1 year and I still have rooms I need to decorate and things that aren't finished--it's a loooong process when it's your stuff and your home and you want to make it perfect.
