Beauty Reviews

The internet is great for viral marketing. One person will say that they used this awesome skincare item or new make-up and the word-of-mouth travels like wildfire!
Both Slynnro and Dishy Decorator said that Natura Bisse Glyco Peel Extreme was absolutely amazing. The Glyco Peel Extreme is a glycolic acid peel that deeply exfoliates a thin layer of your skin. Since I always want to try before I buy, I trolled eBay for a sample size which was delivered to my door this week. I will definitely be purchasing a full tube of this stuff. My skin was so soft, smooth, and my pores were visably reduced. It stings a little when you first put it on, but once you wash it off your skin feels amazing!
Second, Petunia in Paradise and Prissy Southern Prep recommended Maybeline Colassal Lash Extreme as a great contender to my favorite mascara, YSL Singulier. I was at Target yesterday, so I figured I would purchase a tube to try it out. Holy moly, people! This stuff is not playin' around! I would say that it not only beats YSL Singulier, but it beats all other mascaras I have ever tried! Definitely get a tube asap (it's only 5 dollars).

Take a Walk on the Wild Side ...

{All clothing by Diane Von Furstenburg. Milly Necklace. DVF scarf. Miu Miu clog sandals. DVF wedges, Jeffrey Campbell clogs}

African tribal inspired fashion is everywhere this season. The look of huge wooden bangle bracelets and animal prints are back with a bang. Also, you all will notice I am slowly, but surely starting to love THE CLOG. *Gasp* I know ... but I ordered the Jeffrey Campbell clogs seen in this set. I also have my eye on those Miu Miu clog sandals in the set as well. Looks as if I have embraced the trend!

Last Week I Got Green Nails ...

And I absolutely love them! I decided to try Essie's 'Mint Candy Apple' and I couldn't be more pleased. I always wanted to try Chanel 'Jade' last year, but it was so hyped up that it sold out everywhere!

Chanel unveiled a new "green" this season with 'nouvelle vague' (which translates to new wave- a french film movement in the 1960's)

I really love Essie's resort collection:

Interesting nail colors are my new thing. I am getting the blue on the left at my next nail appointment.

Fragrance Obsession of the Month

You all know how I get when I become obsessed with a fragrance! I like to switch things up every month or so with a new fragrance, and this month I am in love with Chloe scent! This scent smells so fresh and clean. I love it so much that I had to have the body lotion as well.

What new fragrances are you obsessed with?

The Jumpsuit: My Way!

You may recall my post a while back about jumpsuits and the question of whether or not I should "jump" into the trend. Well, I did, and I am back to report my look!

I purchased this Fighting Eel jumpsuit a while back:

And styled it myself to wear:

Here are my observations about the jumpsuit:

1) Not everyone can wear it. I realize this is a funny looking contraption. Put it on the wrong body-type and this could be a disaster. I am fairly small and petite and it even made ME look bigger than I really am.

2) Flat shoes go well with the jumpsuit. You could also wear heels. It's very versatile with what shoes you can wear with it.

3) It was extremely comfortable- basically like wearing pajamas all day!

So, there ya have it! Feel free to take the plunge if you haven't already this season.

Jet-Setting in Style!

In preparation for my upcoming trip to Las Vegas, I have been compiling a list of jet-setting essentials :)

1) Longchamp Large Le Pliage (20% off saks.com with code FRIEND3)- this bag is amazing to throw things in that you may need during the plane ride. Also, it will double as a pool bag, travel bag, or a large purse! It's durable, water-resistant, and all-around amazing!

2) Small Fashionable Carry-On- these days, checking your luggage will cost you, so why not stuff everything in a small carry-on? It makes much more sense and is a lot cheaper! This 'Hays' one is only $69.99 via Overstock.com.

3) Luggage Tag- you don't want to chance your luggage getting lost without a luggage tag! Check out this cute one that LifeHouse Press sent to me. This tag is only 5 dollars! Check out their website for more cute Lilly P. items including stationery and other gifts!

4) The iPad- I haven't purchased one of these yet, but you better believe it's on my list. I am currently waiting for the 3G version to ship out in the next couple of weeks to purchase one. This little thing is perfect for traveling as you can watch movies, read books, or surf the internet!

What are some of your travel essentials?

The Shirt Dress

One of my favorite things to wear lately has been "the shirtdess". For me, shirt dresses are easy to throw on and can be paired with flat sandals for a very easy outfit!

These are some of my favorites:

Patterson J. Kincaid makes some great basic shirt dresses. Check them out HERE.

Another one of my favorite designers for shirt dresses is Tucker:

I first saw Tucker dresses when The Love List wore one and I was instantly in love! Now I have one coming my way via net-a-porter!

Fashionista turned Frugalista?!?!

So, yesterday I was on a little online shopping spree. After tax return time, I had some extra cash allotted for some things that I wanted to purchase online. I really wanted the Chloe T-strap wedges and the Eileen Fisher scarf that I had previously blogged about just last week. For some reason I had this urge to go bargain hunting to find similar items for much less money. And what did I find? I found some lovely and chic items for way under 150 dollars total! What's gotten into me? Don't get me wrong, I will always splurge on purses, always ... purses are my absolute addiction and hobby, but sometimes you can save on shoes and other accessories and still look cute and put-together!

Let's examine my bargains!

First of all, here is the Eileen Fisher scarf that I really wanted:

And here is the Love Quotes scarf I found on sale for only $31.99 via Piperlime.com:

Here are the Chloe wedges that I wanted:

And here are the TWO Jessica Simpson (I swore I would never wear JS shoes) wedges I got ($69.99 each- what a steal). So inexpensive that I got them in black AND gold (via Nordstrom.com):

Have you all found any great bargains lately?

All Wrapped Up ...

More now than ever, scarves are making a comeback for the warmer months. Scarves in linen and cotton-blend materials make it easy to wear one with a t-shirt or cotton dress to spruce up a summer outfit.

Here are some of my favorite spring/summer scarves:

{Eileen Fisher Sequen Linen Scarf}

{Lands' End Canvas Scarves}

{Etro- Seersucker Patch Print Scarf}

And here's how I would wear the trend:

A Couple of Fun OOTD's

In the spirit of a lack of creativity with blogging this week, I figured a couple of OOTD's would suffice.

First of all, I am obsessed with this Milly skirt in "wild paisley" print. I paired it with a Loeffler Randall top that I had altered to be short-sleeved (last year). With this outfit, I am wearing a pair of GAP braided sandals that I scored for $29.99 (you can see them HERE) while randomly walking by the GAP next to the Apple store.

For my next outfit, I literally copied this Nanette Lepore Runway look:

As soon as I saw this pair of shorts, I knew that I had to have them! Also, I was in the market for a new denim jacket to throw over outfits in the summer, so I threw in the jacket that is with the outfit as well. I am wearing my favorite summer sandal- the Christian Louboutin criss-cross espadrille!
