Summer Vacation

On Friday we returned from a wonderful vacation in Seaside, FL. We rented an adorable beach cottage that I found on www.vrbo.com. The cottage was named "Greenpeace" for those that are interested in a great beach side cottage.

One of the main things for us was to find a place that allowed pets so we could take out beloved furbabies. They really enjoyed being on the beach for the first time!

The Gulf was the most clear I have ever seen it (I have been to the Gulf many times). There was not a drop of oil to be seen.

Seaside was amazing. It was peaceful, quaint, safe, and adorable. I loved browsing all of the little shops and food establishments in the town center. I would highly recommend a beach trip to Seaside if you have not been. It is perfect for families and children.

Seaside is just a quick 20 minutes away from Destin, which has a great outlet mall called "Silver Sands". I got some amazing deals at the J. Crew outlet and Gap outlet. For boutique shopping, we drove about 20 minutes east to Rosemary Beach where I fell in love with a little boutique named Willow (check out their blog HERE).

For dining, we hit up all the local favorites. We had amazing seafood at Cafe 30-A. Also, Bud & Alley's restaraunt (inside, not rooftop) was so nice and had amazing food as well. I loved the cupcake airstream trailer in the town square of Seaside.

I got to meet the lovely Elizabeth of Elizabeth's Epigrams on one of the first nights we were there. She was so fun and we had a great time having drinks on the Bud & Alley's rooftop.

On our last night, we attempted to take some amateur beach shots for our Christmas card this year. It was SO sunny and bright that we could barely keep our eyes open. I think it will still make a nice card once I crop the picture.

Overall it was an amazing trip. I definitely want to make Seaside a yearly tradition.

Hair Growth Update

My hair seems to be growing like wildfire! I am still using the silica gel, but I have added one more supplement to my hair growth formula.

Several of you all recommended the Phyto Phytophanere hair growth supplement pills. I have been taking these for about three weeks now and I can tell a huge difference in my hair growth and new hair growth. Not only is my hair growing faster, I am also noticing new growth!

SATC2

As you all probably know, Sex and the City has always been one of my all-time favorite shows. I am so excited for SATC2 and can't wait to see Patricia Field's styling in this movie! She never fails to disappoint on the fashion front. Carrie Bradshaw has always been my favorite character, mostly because I can relate to her love of fashion!

Goodbye LOST ...

Warning: This post contains some subtle spoilers about the ending.

I am blogging this morning from the upper deck of our little beach side cottage in Florida. We are having a great vacation, but this morning I literally have a LOST hangover. I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about the ending. I stayed up way too late trying to watch Jimmy Kimmel after realizing that it doesn't come on until ONE am here. Needless to say, I fell asleep trying to watch it.

I won't post any major spoilers for those who have not watched it yet, but I was overall pleased with the ending. I think the ending appeased to a "female viewer" because everything ended harmoniously and eloquently. I will say that when Vincent (the dog) was in the ending, I totally lost it and started crying.

What did you all think? I am just sad that the show is over. I don't think I can get as emotionally invested in another show like I did with LOST. I was a faithful viewer and always got on Lostpedia message boards after every episode to see what people thought about said episode.

I will say that I found this quote online last night and when I read it, it really rang true with how I felt about the ending (SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT):

"One of the most epic lines of the series was delivered by Jack in the first season: "Live together, or die alone." The finale of LOST suggests that those who come into our lives ensure that we do live together, and even if we die alone we will be reunited again—when it counts."

The Grunge Report

Recently on Twitter, Petunia in Paradise tweeted about a pair of J Brand Skinny Cargo Jeans that were supposedly all the rage- she said they were sold out and that her sale's associate said they were the "new hot item". Of course, I had to check this out because if it's sold out or "the next big thing", I need it, right? I don't even think I liked the pants at first, but I tend to get really hyper and anxious about things when they become "sold out", so I scoured the internet to find a pair in my size to order. I need to see what all of the hype is about.

I will admit, at first glance these look kind of grungy. I am honestly not a fan of cargo pants, but the trend has grown on me as I am seeing more and more celebrities wearing these on websites and in magazines.

This is definitely a look that hinges on what you wear it with. I have seen some pictures of this trend that look completely awful, while other picture look glam if worn right.

I think this could be a great trend for casual summer days. It is also very versatile as the cargo pants can be dressed up or down. Here is how I would wear the trend:

Bright Times

Acrylic watches have been all the rage for the past few years. Chanel was the first to be seen with a white and black version of their popular J12 watch that sparked several imitations.
Next we saw brands like TOY pop out of no where with a white and black version. Soon Michael Kors caught on.

I love acrylic watches. I have one very nice watch that I wear almost every day, but when I want to change it up a bit I love an acrylic watch. What's even better are the recent BRIGHT watches that scream summer fun!

I just love the hot pink Toy watch and think it would be a great accessory for summer!

Dior Extase Major FAIL

I ordered some things from Sephora.com and received a free sample of Dior's new "Extase" mascara. I was excited to try this new mascara, but let me tell you, it was a major disappointment. Not only was the brush funky, it clumped like none other and didn't separate the lashes at all. It also added no length.

This is what sephora.com says that Extase is supposed to do:

Um, ya. No. I think that is a bunch of bull. WTF is a ceramid?!

You can tell from this picture of my eyelashes that they look awful. Yuck, defintely don't buy this mascara!
