I come to St. Louis for work at least 4 times a year. I have become quite the regular with the shopping scene here. I have my certain TJ's that I hit up because they always seem to carry Theory, Helmut Lang, JBrand, Vince, Pucci, and sometimes the random designer bag find. I normally do a drive-by of Saks and NM, but since the deals are better at the TJ's and Nordstrom Rack, I don't normally stray from my sure bets.
This trip I casually strolled into Nordstrom Rack to find they were having a rare designer shoe event where high end shoes (worn and refinished) were 49-79 dollars. I am talking Louboutin, Valentino, Gucci, Tory Burch, Christian Dior, etc.
I immediately started freaking out and just grabbed shoes and threw them in my cart.
I am still in awe of the deals that I got. I got all of these shoes for the price of one pair of really nice shoes.
The bottom left corner were ones that a friend paid me to get her. Valentino for 79 dollars.
No shoe was more than $79.97 ...
The sales associate there said they never know when this will happen and they just know when the truck shows up the day before.
She said most of the shoes were just displays or returns with light wear and that they just refinish them to have new soles.
Have you all ever found a deal like this? I honestly couldn't believe it!
Blahhhhhh this has been a busy week. I will be out-of-town again this weekend and next week begins the madness that is Junior League of Memphis Merry Marketplace. We're getting closer to Christmas, which is really hard to believe. This year has flown by.
Yet another boring outfit brought to you by a public bathroom. I wish I had something more interesting to share with you, but alas, this is as good as it's going to get. The blazer is tartan, but you can't tell with the lighting.
My Birthday is in less than a month and I have no idea what I want. I have officially reached that age where birthdays aren't really fun anymore. I'll be 28, which is just one more year closer to 30. I've had my eye on a colored bag and I really like the 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel, but I am wondering if it's just a trend that will pass. I ordered the black one back in the summer but returned it because I didn't like the leather and hardware choice. I really like this colored one, though, and love that it comes with a shoulder strap now.
I forgot to mention this on here a few weeks ago, but I have been obsessed with Homeland on Showtime. I watched the whole first season in one day and have been caught up with the second season. I would say that I reference Homeland at least everyday whether it's texting a friend with a Sergeant Brody sighting or playing the part of manic Carrie or referencing Abu Nazir. As a former Political Science major who was always interested in counter-terrorism and espionage, this show is right up my alley. I promise you'll love it. Watch the trailer for the first season below.
Do you all watch Homeland?
To end this post I'd like to leave you all with something that has made me laugh all week- a cat in a wig. Enjoy!
An outfit from this weekend- Opening Ceremony dress and J.Crew pumps. Chanel mini flap borrowed from a friend (although I'm adding one to my wishlist- didn't think I'd like something so small, but I did).
My hair changes color in every light. Sometimes it looks brown, sometimes it looks really red, sometimes it looks auburn. I'd like for it to look a true red eventually. I love changing my hair color and get a kick out of seeing the different colors on me. Maybe I should work as a spy for the CIA (really, if you're reading from the CIA hook me up).
2. Red Hair - I've been trying to get my hair red and recently took the plunge and got it dyed red. It will probably fade but it's fun for now.
3. Estee Lauder Products - my friend Kyle works for EL in NYC and always hooks me up with some goodies from EL. I am obsessed with their new scent Very Estee (not available yet in the US) and several of their makeup products. I really like their BB Cream.
4. Motorcycle Jackets- I am loving leather motorcycle jackets. I have a black one, but I want a camel, burgundy, and brown one too. Probably won't get them all, but I still love them.
5. Real Raw Beauty Wash- This is my mother-in-law's face wash/face oil that is all natural. I have been using it for a few months now and it's amazing. You can use it as a wash and then put a small amount back on your face as a facial oil. It doesn't clog my pores or cause me to break out at all. I highly recommend this if you're looking for something all natural for your face. You can purchase it here.
